Blooming on

We are nearing the end of Blooms, the sequel to A Line through the Desert begun two years ago becuase David Bowie died.

We don't quite have the ending down, but we're working on it.

Blooms is 90,000 words, making it the longest book we've ever written. There are still a few ideas kicking around the brain, a few themes we wonder if we should explore. That said the structure of Blooms may not allow that. Meaning what is written is written and adding new chapters will screw up what is written. We think.

We think it would be nice to have a scene where Jake and Patricia visit the street they grew up on. The reader never really finds out what happens to all those kids.

Another problem, their daughter is named Gwendolyn and we just can't think of a reason why this would be so. Why would Patricia choose a name like that? Also, what name would she choose?

Readers of A Line through the Desert are invited to weigh in on that one.
