Monday Metal

The Good the Bad and the Ugly is a tough movie to watch. Long, ugly to look at,  and without any sympathetic characters, the film is a long slog. Still the above performance is a thing of beauty.

We have here a very European way (obviously) of composing music for an Italian version of an American Western filmed in Spain. Enrico Marricone gives one the galloping horse theme, but he ads a grand bleakness with the horns and choir, swallowing it's subject just as the film does.
