Solo'd

Solo: A Star Wars Story is a well executed edition to the Star Wars universe.

At the beginning one sees Alden Ehrenreich's Han and says no way, that's not Han. But as the movie goes on Ehrenreich grows into the part until he's something close to Harrison Ford's Han. Donald Glover does a fine Lando with a couple of nice additions to the Billy Dee Williams version. Woody Harrelson plays a typical Woody Harrelson very well. This is a good thing. Emilia Clarke is fine as well. Paul Bettany is an excellent arch villain Dryden Vos.

This movie kept me guessing the entire time and I always guessed wrong. Also, I thought I'd be bored by the action scenes. But these were very well done, especially the Kessel Run.

Yes, this film spends a lot of time checking off names and retroactively laying the ground work for Han. Everything the reader(s) are now imagining-that and those.

There are a couple of WTF moments at the end. Either one is OK with them or one is not.*

I was prepared to hate this movie but do not. 4/5 Stars.

*At least it wasn't Jar-Jar.

  1. After the last star war film I refuse to go to the theater and spend money but will watch it when it comes out on Amazon prime
