Over at Ace of Spades, a fascinating post on the Star Wars franchise and what's going on and what's going wrong. Spoiler, the answer to those questions is Kathleen Kennedy.
According to the report sighted by Ace, Kathleen Kennedy doesn't actually like Star Wars, it appeals to much to boys. This is why she gave us Rey, and that stupid quasi-lesbian character in The Last Jedi.
Kennedy et al hate Star Wars fans.
One is reminded of Robert Moses, NYC city planner in the 1950's and 60's who re-designed much of the city. He built stack-the-poor public housing with vast community spaces owned by no one, split the Bronx in two with the Cross-Bronx Expressway, built cookie cutter ballparks like Shea Stadium, demolished the beautiful Art-Deco Penn Station and replaced it with an underground terminal that smells like rotten tomatoes and cardboard boxes. The result of Moses' work was the New York of the 70's. Robert Moses hated cities.
This is what Kennedy and her spawn have done to Star Wars.
