Aborted

So we've done some research on abortion in the United States and found some interesting statistics.* Also interesting, the Abolitionist movement owns the search results. That is, if one searches for abortion stats, one finds pro-life sites. Even more interestingly, our search for abortion stats has led Google to flood us with birth control and OBGYN ads.

First off, since the Roe v Wade decision in 1973, abortion has never been less common as it is right now. The abortion rate peaked in the late 70's with  29.3 percent of all pregnancies ending with termination. In 2014 the rate was 14.6. That comes to just over a million abortions per year.

75% of these abortions were performed on 'low income or poor' people; 25% were black, 28% Hispanic.

The reasons for the steep decline in the abortion rate seems difficult to determine. We're willing to chalk it up to availability of multiple birth control options as well as the Abolitionist movement changing minds.
