Over the last decade or so the forces of evil have subtly, but consistently campaigned against free speech in the name of tolerance and niceness. Even the Islamist governments have gotten in on the act, pushing for a so called 'human dignity' resolution at the UN against criticism of religion. Bastards.
Anyhoo here are some of our favorite free speech moments by our facorite free speech warriors.
1: Christopher Hitchens (PBUH) really lets MP Shirley Williams have it over Salman Rushdie:
2: Mark Steyn defends free speech in Australia and explains it all. Remember, in Britain a musician was arrested for playing Kung Fu Fighting:
3: Ezra Levant confronts the Canadian Human Rights Commission over their persecution of himself for publishing the dread cartoons of blasphemy. Levant wields his rhetorical sword against his persecutor like Conan the Barbarian in the final battle against the snake cult. It is glorious:
Quoth Levant, 'I reserve the right to publish it for whatever offensive reason I want!' Damn straight.
4: Jordan Peterson on the practicality of free speech and why even people with the most despicable ideas should say them:
