Report on the Somerset County for Trump Rally, 6/27/20

On Saturday we attended the Trump rally in Bedminster, organized by Somerset County for Trump. Bedminster is home to Trump National and often the weekend White House. We used to live right next door in Peapack and know the area well.

There was light rain on and off in the morning. The air was cloudy and humid. The crowd numbered 50 +. We asked the organizer and she said the usual turnout was around 100. The protest area was clad with Trump banners, Trump signs, and Trump fans, generally enjoying themselves, chanting, shouting, clapping  and waving banners, including us:
Every few seconds a passing motorist would wave and or honk. Every once in a while someone would give us the finger. Eventually some counter-protestors arrived.
Triggered is often used to describe what happens when someone see's something that they don't like or otherwise makes them feel bad. We were triggered. We stepped up onto the fence and shouted ourselves hoarse, 'Joe Biden is a racist!' and 'You know who else was a Democrat BLEEP BLEEPING George BLEEPING Wallace!' and 'BLEEPING Democrats are trying to take down statues of Abraham Lincoln right now you BLEEP!'

The organizers politely asked us to stop yelling.
