Stroock Aborted II

The abortion rate per 1000 births was 16.3 in 1973, peeked at 29.3 in 1981 and plummeted to 14.5 by 2014.

To put it another way, there were 1,300,000 or so abortions in 1981, and 640,000 or so abortions in 2018.

What gives?

At first we credited (blamed?) the Generation X demographic plunge. After all if there's fewer young people in 1993 than 1973 there's gonna be fewer abortions, right?

But the abortion rate continued to plummet right through last year, when there were waaaaay too many Millennials running around (I kid, guys, I kid).

Has there been a cultural shift? W did call for a culture of life in the 2000s.  Remember Juno?*

Restrictions? I dunno. While they may be restricting abortion in Texas they're giving out free abortion coupons in California.

Whatever the reason, we think the decline in the abortion rate is a good thing, no?

*Ok, that's totally gay.

  2. I think it is a 2 part solution. 1)Better birth control...options other than the pill that are as effective and not daily. 2)Possibly better education of how hard it is to be a parent.(Millenials I have met don't tend to think sex, drugs, and rock and roll are a good thing)
