Blue & Sheldon

Good afternoon, Stroock's Books sycophants. We write this from the local Donut, where the coffee is excellent. We just overheard the manager and regional manager type interviewing a prospective employee. We'd hire him, but our expertise is writing, not selling coffee. We await the 2:35 PM rush of teenagers looking for their Dunkin fix. Blessedly Noone's turned on the radio.

Bibi laid down the Talmudic law to Joe, reports The Times of Israel, 'Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tells a powerful Knesset committee that the IDF will go into Rafah in a ground operation, and that he told US President Joe Biden as much in their phone call yesterday.' Netanyahu has also sent a team to Washington to brief and consult with the Regime. This is right and proper, actually. The meeting is supposed to take place late this week or next week. Is this the Rafah time table?

Related: a long and interesting thread about Israel's looming war with Hezbollah. Nutgraph, as the J-school losers would say: the Second Hezbollah War is going to be so much worse than the Gaza War. This is fascinating, 'Unusually, there was broad support for the proposed attack among different Israeli security agencies. Netanyahu, with the backing of war cabinet members Gantz and Eisenkot, decided against attacking Hezbollah.' You see, they looked into the history of two-front wars. Wise men, indeed.

What Will's Watching: Young Sheldon. The Stroocklette's introduced us to Young Sheldon last spring, and we must say we were entertained, amused, and enchanted. What a lovely show about a typical family with all of a typical family's problems. We're relating to Sheldon's dad, of course. But being something of a teenaged screwup, we kind of like older brother Georgi too. Annie Potts is a delightful Meemaw; has she ever had a bad role? And oh my, those east Texas accents, utterly charming and disarming. 4/4
