Nope a Dope

Good morning Stroock's Book's celebrants. The Yankee spring persists. Today the weather is damp, cool, and cloudy. We did a six mile walk yesterday. If we're going to do that, we must needs retool our cardio regimen at the gym.

We awake each morning asking, 'Has Israel attacked Iran yet?' And....nope! We remain patient. Various outlets report this morning that Iran has withdrawn its spy ship from the Red Sea (the Israelis should have seized it) and pulled various personnel out of Syria. Who says Israel has no deterrent?

The Jerusalem Post reports: 'The US has approved a potential Israeli Rafah operation in exchange for the Jewish state not conducting counterstrikes on Iran, according to a Thursday report from the Qatari newspaper The New Arab.' We've also heard the agreement, if it exists, includes 'limited' strikes on Iran. The sourcing on this report seems sketchy. Why would a Qatari newspaper know this? Anyway, the Regime in Washington is obsessed with the idea that they can manage this war. They can't. When Joe says 'don't the Taliban, Russia and Iran do. Israel should do too.

It's obvious the Israelis will strike Iran, but where and when? We saw another report that claimed the government wants Israel to have a normal Passover. Exit question, does 'normal Passover' mean  all of Passover week, which concludes 30 April, or just the Seder nights, which are Monday and Tuesday?*

Sometimes they just beat you. Ynet reports, 'Analysis: Terror group's drones effectively exploit 'dead zones' undetectable by radar, showcasing steep learning curve that requires advanced programming and skilled operators....' The Iranians certainly learned a lot about Israeli air defenses Saturday night. We've not yet seen the worst of this war. Stroock's Books predicts an Israeli mass-casualty event before the war is over.

Good news on the American front. The Washington Post did a hit job on a twitter account we've noted before, @Stopantisemitism. 'They criticized Israel. This Twitter account upended their lives.' As the saying goes, if your taking flak....Every day it seems @Stopantisemitism gets a Jew hater fired. Good. Related, The New York Post tells us that Google has fired the 28 employees that staged a pro-Hamas sit-it. The tide is slowly, slowly turning against Juden hass in America.

Hot Air reports on prohibitively expensive colleges and universities. A few weeks ago, we experienced sticker shock (it was a real zapper) ourselves on our DC college swing. The Jesuit university Oldest Daughter toured was $90,000. The non-Jesuit university we attended is a real bargain at $72,000. We thought it was a fortune in mid-90s at $26,000. During the tour we actually walked around stunned thinking, 'We gotta write more books.' Read the Hot Air piece to see how and why Universities are pricing themselves this way. It's all about prestige.

We had a good day with the Lexington short story in War Night. We wrote about the mayor's various meetings with civil defense officials, civil rights leaders who think he's shorting the black community, the president of the University of Kentucky, and public transportation officials. Now the mayor is taking a dinner break and watching the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. We've got a great opportunity here. What does Cronkite report? For younger reader(s), Cronkite was a big, bid deal in the 60s and 70s. Cronkite was the news.

*Israel Radar points out that while Israel doesn't shutdown during Passover week, it certainly slows down with schools, etc closing. A strike on Iran later in the week might be ideal. Israel is creating a lot of strategic ambiguity here. You know what the imams say.
