Thursday Post Without Title

No, we won't be watching tonight's debate. But we will say that the Regime wouldn't be putting Joe up there if they didn't think he could make it through an hour and a half. To put it another way, don't count on Joe sundowning before the nation. Prediction: Regime media will use the debate to upload their Biden Comeback narrative.

Poll reading guru Nate Silver says Trump has a 66% chance of winning the election. Interestingly, our fellow North American finally crawled out of the bottle into which he climbed after the Great White North failed to win Lord Stanley's Cup for King and Commonwealth. He pointed out that the Grits were expected to win the recent by election in Toronto. If that riding isn't safe, no riding is safe, he said between aspirin. If Will's old axiom about the right being underrepresented in polls still holds, then Trump will win in a landslide. Exit question: Will the Regime let its handpicked candidate lose?

There's more talk in the Israeli press that the war of attrition on the northern border is 'winding down'. But the United States is also warning Americans against traveling to Lebanon. So who knows? The Israelis have deployed massive force to the northern border. The IDF is ready to go if need be. What will Hezbollah do? Well look at that, they just bombarded the IDF's Northern Command HQ.

Book sales plummeted yesterday, making us think that the recent sales surge (which was nice) is the result of algorithmic mischief.

In World War 1990: Thatcher's War, we've got the roughs of the intro, the whip around and the attempt on Maggie's life chapters. We've no idea what to write next. A bunch of people watching the telly and wondering, did the IRA just take a shot at Maggie? There's already plenty of 'people gawking at the telly' scenes. Ah, there's an idea...

This conflict of theirs is complex. We've much to learn. As a servant of the Crown remarks to us, for every solution the Irish will find a problem.

Moving on to Ambush at Lingayen Gulf, we think this may be a headquarters story, with info coming into the operations officer and transmitted to the reader. We've done this many times of course. The general outline of the story is coming together, though. Lots of fun and a fun fact. A couple of spots within Lingayen Gulf are a hundred feet deep. More than deep enough to conceal an S-Class submarine. Lots of raids. Why shouldn't the 26th Cavalry be up at Vigan hitting the Japanese airfield there? They did just such a raid in January of 1942.  We have begun writing in earnest. Feels fab.
