A good Sunday morn, Stroock's Books faithful.
We're still basking in the warm glow of the Israeli rescue mission, now named Operation Arnon, after Arnon Zamora* the Israeli commando who was killed in the raid. We're enjoying the Gazan's attempt to frame the rescue mission as a massacre. Pro tip, not holding hostages in your house is ALWAYS a good strategy for avoiding an IDF raid. Cry more. Breaking, must credit William Stroock: Israelis killed puppies and unicorns in yesterday's massacre. Israel had a good week.
We had a fine time last night at the Somerset Patriots. The team was running a promotion whereby they renamed themselves the Jersey Diners last night, diners totally being a huge thing in the New York Metro area and especially New Jersey. The Diners won 4-1.
During the fourth inning last night we got a message from a FB friend, the son of one of our former colleagues at Raritan Valley Community College. This can't be good, we thought. And it wasn't. Our friend and colleague, Dr. Dianne Bennett Gates passed away suddenly a few days ago. We are quite sure we've referenced a 'crazy Australian professor' before on this blog. That was Dianne. We admit to being emotional. We're grateful that her son reached out to us. We'll talk about Dianne a bit this week.
Will's Good Idea for the Week of 6/9/24...The World War 1990: Thatcher's War ideas are percolating, and we expect a very productive week with the MS. Meanwhile we've drafted our Grognard into the Norway proofing effort, because why not? Have we said how much we hate this part? It's like we're back in HS and are putting off our homework. This phase effing sucks. Battle o Lyngenfjord is looking pretty good, though.
*This blog insists reader(s) click this link and read about Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora.
