Saturday Updates

We're back from the beach. We're tired, and sore, and pissed off as we came home to a dead car battery. MotherF!@#$!. We're starting to feel downright unlucky.

We've visited Beach Haven, Long Beach Island seven times in the last five years now, with two trips in 2022 and this year. We've been staying in the same condominium complex from which the Stroock family has rented since the 70s. It's mere steps from the beach entrance and has a pool and...just feels like home. Last February on remorseless dance-taxi duty, we thought wistfully of that complex and the sun.  But the condos are tiny two-bedroom affairs. With (almost) three teenagers, the condo felt cramped. Time makes changes they say, and time's changes may make for us renting somewhere else. We'll see.

When we talk about writing the same thing over and over again, the above is what we're talking about. How many times have we written that paragraph?

The summer for which we pined is not quite over. There's Labor Day and back to school shopping and the start of College Football, about which we care little. But Mrs. Stroock does love her Nittany Lions.

Updates wise there's precious little to update. We did some good research on Thatcher's War. We read through a couple of stories in War Night.
