Will's Good Idea for the Week of 8/4/24

Good morning, Stroock's Books faithful. Still no Iranian attack on Israel. Last night the Israelis hit 15 targets in Lebanon, that's a lot. Doings are transpiring. Otherwise, we all wait. We wonder about the unknown unknowns. Remember, nobody knows nuthin'.

In the Olympics, man beats up woman and woman apologizes. We are lost.

The Times of Israel is scathing in its coverage of Prime Minister Netanyahu this morning, claiming he is the impediment to a hostage deal.* The report details how Bibi keeps adding demands to his proposal. It's almost as if he's a master negotiator who's been negotiating complex coalition deals for a decade and a half. By the way, if Netanyahu really wants to stick it to Biden and Kamala, he'll keep the war going on and on.

Meanwhile, The Jerusalem Post reports: 'The IDF located on Sunday dozens of underground Hamas tunnel routes in the area by the Philadelphi Corridor, including one that goes three meters high.' Question for you, there Bibi. If you're 'Mr. Security' as you claim why was Hamas able to build a huge tunnel ratline into the Sinai? And 10/7 happened on your watch.

Let's move on to Will's Good Idea(s) for the week of 8/4/24.

We had a good day yesterday writing the War Night Taoiseach chapter. Meet Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave. Seems an interesting and conscientious fellow. Boring in a very comforting kind of way. The West doesn't seem to produce leaders like this anymore. Problem: Yet another story where men in suits are sitting at a table talking and making decisions. And we're repeating the opening Prime Miniter Sys chapter in Norway. Taoiseach drives through Dublin. Arrives at Taoiseach House. Walks into Taoiseach house which we describe. See? [Well, it worked in Norway, didn't it?-Ed]

World War 1990: Thatcher's War is approaching 20,000 words and needs a read through. We had a good idea last night, looked at the MS, and realized we already wrote the idea.

Should we commission a new cover for Pershing in Command? Just a thought. Also, we're sitting on half a dozen unpublished chapters about various AEF divisions. Maybe we should look into submitting some of them to magazines.

*Good. We'll expand on this thought later.
