Post Labor

Last day of summer. You know, we still get a little bummed out about that. We went to a lovely Chindian Labor Day barbeque last night. Did we overeat? You're goddamn right we did. But not too much. It was nice to get our mind off events for a few hours. Autumn is definitely in the air here.

We woke with residual gout pain in our foot and a shoulder sore from the gym. We're hitting the gym today, damn-it-all. On the plus side a minor cough we've had for a while, which we believe to be the thing from the place, has finally subsided.

We also awoke hoping to see the Israelis had eliminated another top Hamas leader in retaliation for the murder of six Israeli hostages. Nope. This blog is afraid Israel doesn't have many good options for dealing with the hostage situation - that we know of. The imams are right, after all. Maybe the answer is to blitz the remaining areas where the hostages are held. We don't know. Netanyahu is absolutely right, though. Israel cannot withdraw from the Philadelphi Corridor.

Dark days of mourning in Israel and across the Jewish world. Days will grow darker still. The New York Post reports. 'Up to 7,000 unruly anti-Israeli protesters — including some proudly waving Hamas flags — stormed through the Big Apple on Labor Day, lighting flares and setting off smoke bombs as they marched toward the heart of the city.' This wasn't a protest it was a pogrom. And the day will come soon when they burn a Synagogue. What then, my fellow Hebrews? We are dismayed.

Ah, the Canadian CF-101 story is coming along. It's derivative AF. One will recognize beats from Fail Safe, Midway, maybe even Star Wars. That may or may not be a problem. We have an outline for the story and know what's going to happen and how we're getting to what's going to happen. The crew chief can be Alan or Alain as needed. We love it when a plan comes together. The story is called Voodoo Genie, a title which is itself kind of derivative.

Anyway, enjoy this 50-year-old film strip, yes film strip, about Canadian NORAD. Remember we have Lord Stanley's Cup:
