Will's Good Idea for the Week of 11/10/24

We attended a fine wedding last night where we had not one but three drinks; two Jameson's and a glass of red wine. Mrs. Stroock drove home - though we were stone cold sober by the end of the night - and rightfully so. We almost never get behind the wheel even after one beer. It's not that we can't drive. Rather, we're concerned we'd get in a wreck and the officer would ask, 'Have you been drinking sir?' Also, we admit a single beer goes straight to our brain. Wesley College Will would hate Respectable Will.

Anyway, the Fami di Stroock had a wonderful time at the wedding and looked great while doing so. Mrs. Stroock wore her slinkiest dress. Our daughters looked fabulous and almost upstaged the bride. We of course looked like a learned man of action in a dark blue blazer, black pants, blue shirt, blue and black striped tie. More than one guest saw us and wondered what the odds were that an army colonel would show up with a par of MPs and say, 'Mr. Stroock, the Firm sent me. It's begun, and you're to come with us right away.'

We've not much more to say, so let's move on to Will's Good Idea (or Ideas) for the Week of 11/10/24. Our offer to pitch a few nuclear war stories to an editor has been accepted. We'll see if we can come up with anything in the next 24 hours.

If not, we go back to War Night. We are still sorely tempted to put an amen to it at 10 stories and 63,000 words. Upon this we shall dwell.

On this blog we'll be talking elections current and elections past all week, what we thought, what we think, all we've gotten wrong and all we've gotten really wrong. And the things we've gotten really right. There will be a very special Thursday Downer.
