Western Music is Superior

So last week in Poland President Trump let slip that Western Civilization is superior. Really? There are people who find this statement controversial?

We especially enjoyed his reference to the European musical tradition. We love classical music.

[Really? all you ever want to talk about is metal-Ed]

True, A Line Through the Desert is thick with metal. But alert readers will notice that in A March Through Hell,  Captain Kim Taylor enjoys classical music. We tried to give Taylor the same obsession with classical as Jake has with Zeppelin. Honestly it didn't really work. It's not as if while traipsing though the Burmese Jungle, Captain Taylor could put on his head phones and listen to some Bach. Still, there are some classical music references, these are all pieces we have come to love as much as metal.

Tchaikovsky, Marche Slave: This piece is both menacing and inspirational and we think chronicles a slave revolt very well.

Tchailovsky, 1812 Overture: Obvious, true and a staple of American July 4th celebrations. It has cannons! So does ACDC. I like how exotic the piece feels at times. Love the intro too.

Mendelssohn, Overture de Hebrides: Sounds like the waves washing over the rocks. When we thought Algore had won the election this is what we listened to.
Tchaikovsky, Italian Cappricio: Sounds like a battle. Also sounds like Italy. If Italy were Russia, this is what her music would sound like.
Borodin, In the Steppes of Central Asia: This sounds like a morning on a great plain.
Who has anything that compares to this? Who? Hey here's some Inuit music!
Can you blame Charles and Camilla?
