Monday Metal ...

...Tuesday Tally Amalgamation Edition

Last week we noted our love of classic rock. This week we thought we'd combine the Monday Metal with the Tuesday Tally to list our favorite classic rock songs.*

All Right Now, Free: Power chords, a climbing, triumphant sounding guitar solo and great vocals from Paul Rodgers. This was the first real rock song we learned to play.

American Woman, The Guess Who: Great, screaming hook and more driving power chords. We play this in our sleep.

More than a Feeling, Boston: An obvious pick and a cliche now but such a great song regardless. Nice hook. We can play it. Older reader(s), isn't this kind of the 70's era teenager anthem?

Hot Legs, Rod Stewart: A 70's throwback to a 50's style song. The guitars sound like gravel and Stewart proves his rock and roll chops. Yeah, we can play this one too.

Hot Blooded, Foreigner: There are the power chords again with a very interesting solo. Mick Jones' vocal style stands apart from most the above, especially Rodgers and Stewart.
