Will's Good Idea for the week of 5-13-18

In the universe of To Defend the Earth, the Diomede Islands are fortresses.

The Diomedes are famous as the point where Russia and America meet. They are little more than two enormous rocks jutting out of the Bearing Sea.

Believe it or not a small village of 150 people or so is on Little Diomede.

Now imagine the Diomedes riven with underground caverns, bunkers, missiles silos, laser emplacements, etc, etc.

That'd be a heck of short story, no?
