What follows are our initial impressions of les isle de France. We'll go into more details at a date undetermined.
Six months listening to French CDs and we didn't need it. Everyone spoke English (except one Uber guy) and was willing to speak it to us. Les Francais did come in handy in a few places, 'Bonjour, Mssr, deaux adults eh trois enfants.'
France has fought a war against globalization and lost. Though we never saw the dreaded apostrophe, we saw plenty of signs en Anglais. The city feels like Manhattan with a vague Mediterranean tinge found only in France.
Lot's of young African men. Also hijabs. Also gypsies.
Disneyland Paris is like Disneyland LA. We took a Seine River cruise, walked around Les Eifel Tower, visited Napoleon's Tomb, also Lafayette's which is in excellent repair.
The French have changed.
