At some point in the future we'll wrap up the World War 1990 Universe with a novel called Election: 1992, a political thriller about the consequences of World War Three.

The question of who will be the Dem nominee has long vexed us. Alert reader(s) can see what we're building up to on the GOP side.

Frankly in 1992 there wasn't much of a Democrat bench. Which is how we ended up with Clinton. But we don't want to rerun the real 1992 election. So who? Mario Cuomo never had the guts to run for president. Gephardt? Yaaaaawnnnn.
