Of all the sites we saw in France, Napoleon's Tomb impressed us the most.
The Tomb is attached to the French Military Museum, which we'll write about in another post.
One walks into a mausoleum at the center of which is a grand rotunda. The décor and feel of the mausoleum is surprisingly restrained for the French of that period.
In the center of the mausoleum lies a great sarcophagus containing Napoleon's remains:
Off to the side we found a heartening memorial:
That's General Foch, greatest commander of the war. Six French poilus carry him into eternity. Quite right.
