I has Dyslexia

We are reliably told that September is National Dyslexia Awareness Month.

So when one has Dyslexia, what does that mean?

Usually people think that Dyslexia means one reverses letters. This is true. For example we can look at an arrow pointing right and think it means left.

But Dyslexia also means we get word meanings mixed up, especially if they have the same sound or number of syllables. When W once said, 'They're not going to hold us hostile' when he meant 'They're not going to hold us hostage,' he point an accusatory finger at the TV and shouted, 'Ah-ha!'

Worst of all for us, Dyslexia makes it difficult to hold information. Every Monday we ask, 'So what's the dance schedule today?' Ditto Tuesday. When we wrote Eastern Storm we had to re-learn all the info on the 2nd ACR, which was in A Line through the Desert.

Henceforth the inside joke beginning each post at the beginning of this series of posts on Dyslexia.
