Get back on that Treadmill, Pilgrim

Long time reader(s) may recall that a little more than 3 years ago we were at the gym when we started having chest pains.

Two weeks later, after a cardiac catheterization, the cardiologist told us that our blood pressure thumped like a Motorhead duel bass drum solo, our cholesterol sucked and our triglycerides were about 5 times the safe level.

We changed the way we eat and started walking a lot.

50 years ago we'd have dropped dead in typical postwar man fashion, as our maternal grandfather did opening the garage door. They left the spray paint outline there for a few years, we used to like to lay in it....

Well today our blood pressure is a nice 110/80, we've cut our triglycerides by more than half and we're down about 15 pounds (that's about 1 stone to you Limeys). That said the triglycerides have crept up a bit and the doctor says, 'Do more cardio.'

So today, for the first time since we had chest pains on the treadmill, we're going to the gym.

Wish us luck.
