Monday Commercial Break

In the 1990's we were at the end of history. Actually we were caught between two bits of history, though we didn't know it yet. When nothing happened New Years 1999, even I figured history was over.

Anyway, by the late 90's people were really getting bored. 

Here's a famous commercial that shows the ennui. Even the actors are trying to stay awake.

You could plop these two guys down on the street today and they would fit in, no? Try doing that with 1988 Man or 1978 Man.

Why as culture stagnated?
