When I was a dyslexic boy she sat with me during homework every night and made me read at bed time. When she wasn't happy with the help I was getting at Furnace Woods Elementary School she unleashed righteous fury upon them. In 8th grade when she felt Blue Mountain Middle School screwed me she just let me stay home rather than serve a suspension and didn't even call them.
Today Mary Thompson Stroock would have turned 71.
