The GOP under Trump has gotten adept at fighting these battles. Kavanaugh sits on the Supreme Court, after all. 

Trump won the Russia Hoax too. And last December the GOP thwarted Democrat attempts to steel the Georgia and Florida elections.

We see two counter-tactics so far, fight like hell, and call the bluff. Trump is fighting like hell, and last week released both the transcript and the complaint.
