Popular Jersey Shore department and convenience store Hand’s on Long Beach Island will close this spring after 70 years in business. A store manager told NJ Advance Media that Hand’s is aiming to close in early April, although an official date has not yet been set. The store is located at 1310 Long Beach Blvd. in Beach Haven.The owner of Hand’s is retiring and sold the property, according to the store manager. The news was first reported by The SandPaper, a local newsmagazine in Ocean County.

The Fami de Stroock spent most of 30 summers at LBI and we shopped at Hand's regularly. Oh well.
