Shakira and Jennifer Lopez gave us a show. They gave us a spectacle. We watched. We enjoyed it. Those outfits were certainly...informative. The Super Bowl is a family game, the NFL says. A family game... Our 10 year old was visibly uncomfortable with all the booty shaking. We spent the first half of the program wondering if we would enjoy the halftime show as much if we closed our eyes. We would not. We spent the second half of the show debating with our self, Shakira, J-Lo. Shakira, Jo-Lo. J-Lo is built the way we like our women built. Solid, long limbed. Her hair is lustrous. The pole dancing impressed us no end. Shakira is no skinny-minny and possesses an innate cuteness which grows more adorable as she ages. One of the classic pin-up artists (Gil Elvgren?) said the key to the art was putting a 15 year old's face on a 21 year old's body, and this is what Shakira has. She plays a couple of instruments, which for some indefinable reason is hot. We never were able to make up our mind.
Oh, their music is trash. We miss Prince's performance.
