If we were to turn Nuke 1975 into a novel, if we were. We're not saying we are, we're just saying if we were, a great chapter idea, The Battle of Prudhoe Bay.
Prudhoe Bay had been explored but was not up and running yet in 1975. Not till 1977, actually. This chapter could be about emergency Federal efforts to get it up and running. In real life they began the pipeline to Valdez in 1975 and completed it two years later. We're assuming many of the sections were completed. Could they do it in this universe?
Interesting sub-question. Prudhoe would have to be defended. How much of the US Navy has survived.
