6/1/20 in New Jersey

Plenty of protestors in Newark, not much of a riot though. Reports NJ.com:
Thousands of protestors took to Newark’s streets, many venting anger and frustration with choruses of “I can’t breathe” and “No justice, no peace!” The few incidents, including a flag burning, the spray painting of a statue of George Washington, and the slating of tires on a Newark police vehicle, stood in contrast to looting, fires and violence in other major cities.
Ain't nothing wrong with a vociferous protest.

Unlike Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, Mayor Baraka was prepared. The police met with local leaders and were in the street, in some cases marching with the protestors. While Jacob Frey wanted a riot, Mayor Baraka didn't. And that's the difference.
