We are laid low with a bout of plantar fasciitis. Our right foot hates us and we hate it right back. As we sit here, our foot aching, we take comfort in the fact that we don't smoke cigars or drink whisky much anymore. Oh, that's comforting, It's a good thing. Trying to stay healthy is really paying off.
[Oh shut the fuck up. You're down 1.7 stone and don't even know why. Do we need to talk about the chips you snarfed at 10:30 last night for no goddamn reason?-Ed]
We've read through about three quarters of Nederland. This process is incredibly frustrating, mostly because after all this hump busting, someone will still point out typos in an Amazon review. Thanks, Chaucer. December 1st, people. Maybe November 15th. We need new procedures. There are no shortcuts in the process, but we feel there are steps we can take to make it easier.
An interesting week on The Great Nuclear War of 1975 front. We did some good editing. Mostly scenes need to be expanded, they need to show more detail. When General Haig says they've defeated the Warsaw Pact, get detailed, show some examples. You know this damn book is going to be so big...no we won't do it. One volume, but still...This thing might be 130,000 words when it's done.
We had planned to end chapters with presidential addresses but got away from doing it. But we think we need to get back to doing so. In this way readers can see ideas synthesized form the previous chapter or previewed for the next chapter so readers aren't confronted with a scene and think, 'They're coal mining...oh...oh, oh OK, I guess.'
We've done a few videos and are generally pleased. Why not? We don't want to put too much effort into them, we're not The Critical Drinker or Paul Joseph Watson. Frankly, not that many people are going to see them. Our inability to expand out online presence continues to baffle.
Trump's going to win, comfortably. Even the media is starting to figure out they're in trouble. Watch this clip where CNN worries about GOP turnout in Florida, and this clip too. The Biden campaign is a myth, a marriage, a chimera, a Potemkin Village...how many metaphors do we need to use? It's not a thing, and we'll all see that on election night.
