Will's Good Idea for the Week of 11/29/20 (Supplemental)

Because The Great Nuclear War of 1975 bounces around from one-off character to one-off character, we created Matt. Matt's family has flown halfway across the country and after waiting things out, he leaves home to find them. Readers follow his progression at the beginning of each chapter.

We've been thinking that we should add Matt scenes to the end of the chapter as well. This allows us to show more of his progression, and to show more of the post-nuclear war countryside and how people are getting on.

Doing so would amount to another 10,000 words at least. See why we're considering breaking this project up into three books? We're not saying we're going to do that, but right now we're looking at really big book, twice as long as one of WW1990 novels. A third novel just wouldn't be that big a deal. At this point we're thinking not turning this into three novels would be leaving money on the table.

We'll see.

  1. My opinion is you should just keep it as one book maybe charge a little more for it for being bigger but keep it one book
