Sabado Updates

Just a great week.

Five times to the gym in all. Yesterday we rattled off an hour on the treadmill without thinking. It was casual, easy, routine even. That's with a mask. One day no mask will be required and then, well, just watch us. In the last two months we've gone from 235 to 250 and that is all muscle. We know this because our pants are looser.

We're on Spanish lesson six. It's going well, so much better than the French. We literally can't even.

On to the things.

We had planned to publish our Cuito Cuanavale piece on Substack this week but got sidetracked by another article that should be out on Monday. We'll get the Cuito piece up this weekend.

We wrote the Cuito piece eight years ago, and man, were we wordy back then. Talk about needing to omit needless words....we need to omit needless words. The problem is that we would write a sentence and then add a descriptor, 'The 1st battalion advanced, taking heavy fire as they did so.' Or, 'The tanks were bogged down, losing several to RPG fire,' etc etc. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it's awkward and hard to fix. Tenses got juggled around, etc.

There was a spike in visits yesterday. So what do you people want up on Substack next month. Indo-Pak? American Revolution? Something else? You tell me.

Okay!...We've read through The Great Salvation of 1976's Korean War chapter. We did a lot of fixin' and some adding to existing scenes but wrote no new scenes. Do we want to expand a bit? Maybe. We're going to plow on through the rest of '76 this week. Overall '76 is at 60,000 words. We're in great shape for a 1 April completion on both.

  1. How about articles on the revolution after Yorktown the war continue for another two years but no one hardly writes about that period
