Saturday Updates

Did an hour on the treadmill yesterday, just glided along, not a care in the world.  We felt pretty good when it was over. That's four times to the gym this week. We might go today and tomorrow. We'll see. Somehow we lost two pounds in March, bringing our weight down to 250 despite all the weight lifting. That's five pounds less than what we weighed when our first daughter was born in 2006. We were 245 in January.

The things:

Behold, March KDP reads:

That's about a 15% drop off from February, but incredibly consistent overall.  Almost suspiciously so. Sales tick up midmonth. As noted previously, nobody really knows how the algorithm works. Sales lead:

Arctic Storm being second is great news, as that means new readers. Judging by reviews it seems a lot of new people found Nederland as well and read it as a stand alone novel. These too will pick up the other books in the series. And just look at which two novels are bringing up the rear.

We've been bashing our writing all week. But last night we realized that the result of that writing was two chapters set, one showing President Bush on Air Force One, the other describing events around Task Force 60. We also had a bit of Ju-ju. We'll need scenes showing world reaction to the president going to DefCon One. We'll have  scenes with the Pope leading prayers, people gathering in vigil at Wenceslas Square in Prague; ditto in Poland. We'll show Southeast and Northeast Washington rioting. Overall The Final Storm stands at 35,000 words, that's without the Georgia Coup intro. The mind is fully engaged.
