Look who went and got himself Instalanched. We're posting over at Helen's Page. So far so good. The Austrian Painter has cracked Amazon's top 20 in the Alternate History category. That's confirmation that we can still sell outside the World War 1990 universe. Which is nice. Sales are 75% Kindle. Interesting. That's a lot of new fans. Book sales are an art, not a science.
Over in Israel, leftwing Meretz has joined Lapid's Change Coalition. Looks like Bennett is the last hold out. As noted previously, we can take or leave Bibi, but don't you want a guy who you know can handle the current situation? Hard to say, we're not there. Boy, if Gantz hadn't shattered the Blue and White coalition. Moron.
NJ.com reports about the 20 towns with the lowest vaccination rates. These include Newark, Orange, East Orange, Camden, which is not surprising as they have large Black populations. That's a hugely vax skeptical community. Here in the NYC metro area one sees tons of 'get vaxed' commercials aimed at African Americans. There's also Lakewood, home to a large Hasidic Jew community. They're also extremely vaccine skeptical . The infection rate down there must be enormous. Phillipsburg is interesting. That's an exurban town on the PA border, 83% white according to the 2010 census. We bet that the vaccine rate here in Bridgewater approaches Everybody.
Okay, this 76 chapter we're looking at just doesn't get things done. We have a couple of farm scenes, some political machination scenes where Milton Freidman and James Cannon are wrangling over the future of the GOP, a scene where Rockefeller is asking Ronald Reagan to restart Hollywood, a scene where they're talking to the Ag secretary about farm yields...
All this leads to the final chapter where there will be a presidential inauguration at the Greenbrier among other conclusions. We'll wrap up the Ulan Ude story, Matt looking for his family (we still don't know how this ends exactly, but it's not with a dramatic scene where they run to each other, we can tell you that).
