Various

We caught Run Silent, Run Deep last night for the first time in...forever. It's grittier than we remember, mostly because the last sub film we watched was Dos Boot. Talk about grit, kraut tossers. We liked all the interplay between captain and XO. Of course the film doesn't feel like World War II, it feels like 1958.

We gave 75's opening chapter a read through yesterday and came away quite happy. It opens with Matt, then various scenes where everyday people see Air Force One, a scene introducing Rockefeller, Thatcher getting rescued by the RAF as the surviving highest ranking member of Parliament, and then a final Matt scene. That's the basic chapter structure. This went so well we're tempted to add a few more scenes.

We've written two scenes of The Weser. The book opens with General Akhromayev visiting the front as the Politburo's personal representative. Here the commanding general of a Soviet Army briefs him on the their victory at the Battle of Bremen, their breakthrough, and the destruction of the American 2nd Armored Division enabling both. Two Soviet armies have established bridgeheads across the Weser and a third is moving to exploit. This is the decisive moment.

This is going to be a large scene. Lots to explain. Five Ws of course. But also what's up with the Danes, Belgians, etc etc.

We better update the 'Future Projects' Page.

No official word yet on the formation of Bennet government. They're meeting now. This from Israeli National News is interesting: 'Opposition leaders working to form a new government led by Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid have agreed to ‘unprecedented’ concessions to the Bedouin sector, according to a report by Channel 12 Tuesday morning.' Doesn't sound like anything to get worked up about, right? They need to repair and reconcile, and if the Haredi parties are upset, that's a great sign.
