7/19/21, Various, and Your Monday Metal

Well, how about that? 48 today. We don't have any insights, except that we're still up at the Stroock Northern Strategic Direction, where we spent many birthdays as a kid. Also, we've outlived Andrew Breitbart by four years, something that looked iffy in 2015. He had heart problems too.

What Will's Watching, That's Baseball, Susan: A day after losing a heartbreaker in the bottom of the 9th, the Mets got out of the 1st inning down 6-0 on a play I wouldn't even know how to describe. They eventually won 7-6. What a day. Meet the Mets. Greet the Mets. Come on out and see the Mets.

So we went out to the boat to throw on the bilge pump, with all the rain, you see. The boat's bow was probably ten degrees out of the water. We were going to start up the engine, but wouldn't you know it, the blower doesn't work. For those who don't know, the blower is a fan that clears out gas fumes before starting the engine. Man, she really doesn't like that boat. New bilge worked great, though.

On to The Great Nuclear War of 1975. We read our Falkland submarine war books yesterday and while we're learning a lot, we don't think we've picked up much to add to 75's Falkland submarine adventure chapter. Probably a few details. We think we've figured out how we end the chapter, with a whimper.

Today we'll pass the 35,000 word threshold on The Weser. As we've said, this chapter is mostly generals sitting around HQ looking at maps, taking radio reports, and reacting. We'll need to get back home with all of our BAOR books to fill in details. Done with the chapter by 1 August?
