Saturday Updates

Another great run yesterday afternoon. With the treadmill at 3.8 we just glide along. Because we count taking the Stroocklettes to the pool as exercise (we spend most of the time in the water) we worked out every day this week.

Every time Joe talks he makes things worse. How many of his lies did his own admin correct yesterday? Actually, was he lying? Did he think he was telling the truth? Does he even know?  Hey, anyone remember when Iranian proxies tried to storm the US Embassy in Baghdad and President Trump flew in reinforcements? This is Hurricane Katrina and the Iranian Hostage Crisis rolled into one. There's another element, but we don't know what to call it.

If reader(s) think Joe's Afghan debacle looks bad now, wait till Americans get back to the US and talk to the press. Wait till Marines and paratroopers talk about standing idly by while the Taliban beats Americans just a few feet away. After that will come harrowing tales from Afghan refugee women who managed to get out.

And yes, reader(s), we should be taking Afghan refugees. These aren't Mexicans trying to get freebies. These are actual refugees fleeing for their lives. This is why America exists. I dunno, maybe it's just because we're surrounded by immigrants.* For those of you worried about vote tally implications, just think of the two exile communities in America who had to flee their homeland because of Dem fuck ups. Exit question, how do the South Vietnamese and Cuban expat communities vote?

We spent the week tired, cranky and sore (probably all the working out, no?). Also distracted. Which means we didn't get as much done as we wanted.

We went back over World War 1990: The Weser.  The read went better than we hoped. We did a lot of cleaning up and things are looking good. The Weser stands at 52,000 words. We need to work in some plot points. We've just about finished the British/French/Jerry side of the battle and need to wrap up the Confederate end. Next week we intend to bring the MS up to 60,000. That ought to just about do it.

With The Great Nuclear War of 1975, all we need to do is finish the Falklands chapter and arrange some Matt scenes. Then it's off to the beta readers. Remember, '75 doesn't come out till '76 is done. They get released back to back, simultaneous like.

*We take it as read that Joe will fuck it up.
