Great back to back workouts to start the week, machines on Sunday, an hour on the treadmill Monday. We plan on taking the Stroocklettes to the pool today, so there's another workout.
We'll be bikini ready for the shore next week. Still no idea what we're reading. As always we'll bring the computer and do some work in the early mornings and late afternoons. That is how one gets this job.
The battle scenes in The Weser's final chapter are a bit thin. Usually we like a scene to be 750-1000 words. 500 is a bare minimum. These scenes are mostly just commanders observing and talking to one another, 'Jerry's moving out!' So it could be ok. Readers may grow weary of reading some version of, 'Gun to the northeast boomed and artillery shells shrieked overhead...'
We heard a great writing tip from Tucker Carlson. That coma should be a period. We don't really have writing rules, other than omit needless words. But if we did have rules, that would be a rule. We should put together some rules. Rule number 1: write.
What Will's Watching, Voyager: We're halfway through Season-2. This show is definitely a lot better than we remember. Also, and weirdly, we hardly remember any of the episodes we're seeing. Did we not watch Voyager as much as we thought we did back in the day? Janeway is a better character than we originally thought. She's more proactive than Picard, who used to just wait for his crew to tell him what's happening. Janeway actually delves into things herself. Some idiots* said Janeway should have been the female Kirk rather than the female Picard. Exactly how would that have worked? You see the problem? Think it through. Kate Mulgrew plays Janeway with a touch of vulnerability, which make sense, Janeway being a woman and all. And we must say, bravo to the writers. Janeway is a great name. As noted previously, it's possible we like Voyager now because at 48 we're a just a bit more grownup than we were at 22. [If you think so-Ed]
