Saturday Updates

There's just something about weekend autumns in the Northeast. The air is clean, crisp and refreshing. The leaves are turning. We work with a sense of anticipation on Sunday mornings. A few hours of writing, then some football. We've always had tonnes of juju on Sundays.

Run or lift today?

A contractor is coming next week to redo the basement walls. Flooring is next. Since the walls and French drains have long since dried out we'll probably spend an hour or so putting some of the utility room back together today. It will only be half as messy when we're done.

After that we'll figure out what to do with the liberry.

Detox is going pretty well. We still have one of the toxes in our system but began reducing that last night. We slept great.

Some week for the Dems on the Hill, huh? For years those communist degenerates in the media have been telling us that San Fran Nan is a master negotiator and parliamentarian. If you followed the Obamacare maneuvering a decade ago you already knew that's not true.

The Squad and co really fucked things up. And there's no unfucking things. Not after AOC and the rest of the toy socialists took to the press and attacked the senators they need to pass the trillions. These goddamn people are incapable of persuasion.

Former Dem Speaker of the House Tip O'Neil is rolling his eyes in the great Irish pub in the sky. He and Reagan used to go to the bar and make deals. We like to think he's nudging Reagan right now, pointing down to the city of man and saying, 'Hey Ron, remember when we managed to cut taxes in exchange for closing loopholes?'

'Tip, I sure do.'

We were certain the Dems would cut a deal Thursday night and then...nothing. They may well still cut a deal, but it won't be the whole thing. Advice to the GOP: We can live beside the ocean. Leave it all behind. Swim out past the breakers. Watch the world die. Yeah, watch the world die.

Things!

We have completed reading the Great Nuclear War of 1975. Changes remain to be made. But we've read the damn thing for the last time till we get the formatted proof. We'll have several scenes to write and fix next week.

We spent the week going over a half dozen scenes in The Final Storm and fixed them up as best we could. We think next week we'll right and edit the British Tornado Squadron attack sequence. That's probably our good idea for the first week of October.
