Vladimir Putin: Mighty Warlord, Song and Piano Man

Stroock's Books is seeing a yuge traffic spike. This is not surprising. During times of crisis internationale, people are going to want sharp, incisive analyses.  New visits are mostly from the United States, but some are also from Sweeden. Hello Nightingale Russia. We missed you. Bravery in anonymity.

As it happens one of our Russian neighbors is actually Ukrainian (and a Jew)*. He and his friends provided key info about Odessa and Russian internal passports for the Tevelev subplot in Battle of the Three Seas. We asked him how to pronounce Ukraine's capital city and he said, 'Ki you pronounce like Keano Reeves first 2 letters and last two like ef.'

Some dumbfucks are calling for the US to do more in Ukraine. Quoth the New York Post: 'At the very least, Biden needs to stop saying with certainty that “we will not fight Russia,” as he’s done multiple times. Telegraphing exactly what we will and will not do gives Putin more time and flexibility to tighten his grip on Kyiv.' The Post endorsed no-fly-zones and drone strikes before going on to compare Putin to Hitler and Stalin. Retards. Did disgraced Neocon John Podhoretz wright that? Because we think disgraced Neocon John Podhoretz might have written that.

CDR Salamander has a great post on the situation in Ukraine, and agrees with us. The Russians may be blundering, but they're blundering relentlessly forward. In the end Russia wins, we think. As for the international pressure, which we admit is formidable, we wonder if Russians really care. This is a nation that suffered 20 million dead in The Great Patriotic War. It remains to be seen if a little inflation is going to bother these people.

Putin Watch: Putin playing piano and singing Fats Domino's Blueberry HiIll:

The Bridgewater Breeze reports on Bridgewater/Raritan High School's walkout yesterday to protest you know what and who. The protest was organized by Tormel Pittman of New Brunswick: 'Less than 30 people and only a handful of students attended the march. Although the protestors agreed that more adults and students should have shown, Pittman said that after all the years he’s organized demonstrations, he “would rather have a small group of strong people than a large group of weak people.' That's another fine report from The Breeze's Emma Uk.

The town council and Mayer Mathew Moench have been silent on the Z'kye Hussain affair. On the one hand, who can blame them? On the gripping hand, do your goddamn job. Also Al Sharpton is coming to town today. We've been to three protests and we're really wondering if we need to go to this one. Why do that to ourselves? Maybe we can get a selfie with Al?

What Will's Watching/Not Watching: We didn't watch Joe's thing last night but Middle Daughter did or tried to. She fell asleep by 9:30. The girl has taken an interest in current events and is tuning into CNN's Erin Burnett at 7 PM. You know, the show doesn't induce vomiting in us. And Erin Burnett sure is easy on the eyes. Also, not a dingbat.

*They're everywhere.
