This blog has no idea how Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter will change Twitter or the internet. We think it's possible Musk could cause a preference cascade toward Free Speech. That is, if Twitter stops censoring, other platforms will have to stop censoring as well. It's also possible that conservatives will come to regret their celebration of Musk's purchase. The man's an eccentric billionaire with some peculiar ideas. We shall see.
We've no idea what that's supposed to mean.
Your Def Leppard Hysteria deep track for 4/26/22. Love and Affection, the final track on Hysteria, and just perfect for the slot. The song actually sounds like the album is saying goodby as it ends. Nice little riff there, no? A commenter says Love and Affection is underrated and doesn't understand why it wasn't a single. Agreed. Interestingly Love and Affection sounds like it could be on the next album, the softer 90s Adrenalize:
Take a random pic of a nice, young hippie couple at Woodstock. At ages 20 and 19 they're all for peace and love. Can't you see them? There sits a thin, virile, flat-stomached sinewy armed young man with floppy hair. Beside him a sweet young hippie girl with a peace sign on one cheek and a flower on the other. As Robert Plant once sang, a girl with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair. It's the Age of Aquarius, man.
Flash forward a decade. By ages 30 and 29 our once young hippie couple have a three year old and another kid on the way. They live in an apartment because they can't get afford a mortage at a 14% interest rate. They can't replace their old appliances because new models are just flying off the shelves as people spend their cash as fast as they can, further driving inflation. And what's with the Iranians kicking around the USA? Those sweet, young hippie kids of 1969 voted for Reagan in 1980.
