Good morning Stroock's Books commune. We awake bright eyed and bushy tailed. Still we're annoyed and grumbling. We're confident of finishing the week strong, though. We're confident of that.
So a British reviewer compared The Great Nuclear War of 1975 to Threads:
This review is both good and bad, but also good. The review is good because it's a good review confirming that we wrote a great novel. The review is bad because it's another review that puts a lot of pressure on us, especially when The Great Salvation of 1976 is a different kind of novel in a lot of ways. And when people read the thing of yours that they like, they want to read another thing just like it. But the review also is good because, well, reviews are good. Even the bad ones. Which the idiots who go out of their way to trash me would know if they knew anything about selling books. Which they don't, even though they write them.A fellow North American tells us that Ontario Premier Doug Ford vanquished the opposition in yesterday's election and now sits upon a throne of his enemies' skulls picking out the women he wants. The communist boy touchers at the CBC have the story. This would seem to be the Agincourt* of Canadian provincial elections: 'It is rare for a provincial party in Canada to expand a majority, though the PCs look on track to add to their caucus at Queen's Park. Two hours after most polls closed at 9 p.m. ET, the PCs were leading in or projected to win at least 83 of Ontario's 124 seats.' Harbinger? Does it even matter? Ford's political Dresden doesn't change the fact the Justin is entrenched like Hitler in his bunker. Oh, and Fidel Castro's son is a Nazi.
Below, your Friday Flag:
*Agincourt? Midway? 73 Easting (bias)? You tell me.
