Storming Sales

Good morning Stroock's Books commune.

Also, right turn, Clyde.

So yesterday was Clint Eastwood's birthday. Here's our list: Kelly's Heros, Every Which Way but Loose, Dirty Harry, Unforgiven, Gran Torino, Josey Wales.* It's an eclectic list we think, and just typing it we find ourselves becoming nostalgic for that early 90's era which includes A Perfect World and In the Line of Fire. Also, there's gonna be a fair amount of nostalgia for the early 90s at Stroock's Books this month as 30 years ago this June 28th we graduated high school.

At GB News, Colin Brazier tells us that Tony Blair is thinking about getting back into Labour politics and becoming PM again. Our own sense is that Mr. Blair is from another time and his brand of Third Way politics is discredited. Due watch the vid for a breakdown of Mr. Blair's major mistakes. A very interesting argument. We'll never fully badmouth the man though, not after the way he stuck with America after 9/11. Thank you, Mr. Blair. As President Bush said during his war address, 'Good to see you, friend.'

We went over The Final Storm's Soviet intro chapter yesterday, a half dozen scenes showing the Politburo, their version of NORAD, a SAM base, a TU-95 base, a missile silo, etc. Not bad. We might add some detail, but we were pretty happy. Up next...The Israeli chapter. Back to the Jews with us. Always the Jews. Which makes sense.

Sales of The Great Nuclear War of 1975 rebounded at the end of June. Huh. Memorial Day weekend reading? Maybe.  Book sales are not a science but an art. Unless you're J.K. Rowling, then books sales are a bulldozer.  The book is also closing in on 250 combined reviews and ratings. We are among the best there is at what we do.

*We don't care for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at all.
