Defend This

The GOPs will take the house with between 220-224 seats. It's something, we guess.

The Jerusalem Post reports that Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud have opened negotiations with the centrist parties as Ben Gvir and the Religious Zionist Party are demanding too much. Of course, the centrists hate Bibi.  Is this a negotiating ploy by Bibi? Certainly. Would he form a government with the centrists? Probably. Do we know what will happen? No.

Regarding the readthrough of The Aftermath of 1976, we've been slacking on the job and need to dock ourselves a day's pay.* This is actually the worst part of the job. We're off to a good start this morning, though. It's remarkable that we can still find errors at this stage, even after a readthrough of the MS Word printout last spring. We're still tweaking things. One never finishes writing. One just stops.

We're still thinking about book ideas and considering all possibilities. Israel Strikes, something World War Two. Maybe something totally different. Our planned three volume solar system space opera in 2542 has been bouncing around our head. We think a lot about what Martian culture would be like. We might put that one out on a platform other than Amazon. It's a thought.

Last night we started thinking about To Defend the Earth. We haven't thought about TDTE much in years. We asked some of you people for ideas. Taking the fight to the Jai seems to be popular. The Jai are from Epsilon Eridani, so humanity is going to have to invent FTL. Remember, the Jai just travelled through normal space at .99 lightspeed using ramjets. As to their ultimate motivation, you'll have to very closely consider the name of their expedition leader, Zetroc Nanreh. Reminder, at the end of To Survive the Earth, another ship is coming from the Jai homeworld.

To Defend the Earth and To Survive the Earth both ended with blockbuster space battles. We had originally planned the third book in this series to be called To Liberate Mars, but there's probably not enough fodder there for a standalone novel. To Liberate Mars could be a story at the end of novel three. There's also the Galilean Moons and Venus to think about. Remember how the Ruski attack on Venus failed?

To Survive the Earth flopped. A third novel wouldn't be about post-war survival or earth politics or whatnot. So, this one will be all space stuff.
