The Thursday Tooth out

Back to the dentist yesterday for the cleaning of the rest of our mouth. Our teeth are great, gums and gum line clean. Plaque and tarter washed, flushed and picked away. We've always had great teeth - two cavities in all this time. We're nearly 50 years old, now that our teeth are set, we may never go to the dentist again.

We had back-to-back days at the gym. They were fine, but we've been pretty lackadaisical on the bike of late. Maybe it's time to do something else?

In 2023, your daughter tells you there was a fight in school and then shows you the video. We saw a young man being attacked. Unfortunately for the assailant this young man is a wrestler. He turfed the assailant and walked away. The assailant got up and punched the young man in the back of the head. The young man turned around and turfed him again, got up and walked away. By then a teacher stepped in. Interestingly that teacher was wearing a number 31 Jason Seahorn Giants Jersey. Click the link for career highlights (Seehorn's not the young wrestler).

Segue... NJ.com reports: 'There’s a big football game Saturday that will put many fans in North Jersey and South Jersey on bitterly opposing sides: an NFL playoff battle between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. So which team will New Jersey’s governor root for? “I’m staying out of it,” Gov. Phil Murphy said with a laugh after an event in Morristown on Wednesday.' Phil Murphy is a smart man. NJ.com goes on to tell us that Murphy is from Massachusetts so...Figures. Former governor Christ Christie was notoriously a Dallas Cowboys fan. What you going to do about it?

Things I'd like to say in earnest: 'This is America. We don't share land here.'

What Will's Watching: 1923 Episode 1. We've seen the first few seasons of Yellowstone but haven't watched 1883. We liked the first episode of 1923 a lot, surprisingly so. We enjoyed the Africa subplot, probably because Spencer Dutton is a restless vet of the American Expeditionary Force. That flashback scene was well done. 'I can't run, my leg's broke.' From there it's Hun killin' time. If there's one thing Will likes, it's Hun killin'. [Your great grandfather was, literally, a Hun-Ed].

Goddamn it. We're looking at the notes we've made on the hard copy of The New American Order but can't read them. Chicken scratches. Damn chickens.

The Great Nuclear War of 1975 and The Aftermath of 1976 have been successful enough that we're really thinking about doing a short story compilation is a good, practical idea. We've got some buzz for it....some ju-ju. We'd be interested in exploring a few ideas about what people do the night the missiles fly. A disk jokey, maybe. How about a television news broadcast? We've talked about this one before, a missile silo crew pops the hatch after a couple of weeks (Arkansas survived). More Soviets? Maybe one story goes far into the future, say 2025? What questions do we have. Post in comments. Exit question, just how dark would this thing get?

  1. Some storylines for 1975/76. What happens in the US Nuclear Sub such as a Sturgeon or Permit class sub as the missiles/bombs dropping and how do they handle themselves in the days after? How is the crew reacting? Could also do something similar with a story about Americans overseas in a Spain or Italy or Australia.
For a 2025 storyline how about an established Commonwealth of Nations (The British Empire) having to deal with a resurgent Japan that is getting its oil from the US. Japan has been a stabilizing technology presence in Asia and the US. Now the US has to deal with power struggle between Japan and the Commonwealth both whom have helped the US get back on its feet. How does President Desantis (Born in 1978) and former USN sailor handle this????

  2. How about a story on Panama was the canal hit we would of still owned it since this was before Carter and if not we could use toll fees from the canal to put money back into the US
