With Mrs. Stroock in Manhattan for three days it's just the six of us here at the Stroock stronghold [Six?-Ed]. I'm counting the cats.
A minor (so far) case of gout today. Our first since Disney World.
Stroock's Books sees a surge in French traffic. Why not drop us a line, guys?
Ahhh....to be a Jew in New Jersey: 'An attacker hurled a firebomb at a synagogue in New Jersey early Sunday morning, police said, as US Jewish communities continue to grapple with surging antisemitism and anti-Jewish hate crimes.' This happened in northern New Jersey, maybe half an hour from us, more or less across the river from Manhattan. Yes, we do look around before going into our synagogue, and keep an eye on the exits once inside. We have a plan.
Staying on the New Jersey beat, NJ.com repots: 'New Jersey health officials on Monday reported another 873 COVID-19 cases and six new confirmed deaths as the transmission rate continues to stay below its key benchmark.' NJ.com had stopped prominently displaying its covid update and we got out of the habit of looking. The so-called triple-demic has been raging in New Jersey. Even so, we see few masks. People are moving on.
More on the Jews: '”I wasn’t aware of the fact that there are tropes about Jews and money. That has been a very enlightening part of this journey,” Omar said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”' Adam Schiff, a Jew, sat next to...that woman, and nodded along. Adam Schiff is bad for Jews. These are two despicable creatures who've no business serving in congress much less on sensitive committees.
We watched another How I sold a Million Books video and learned all about the importance and benefits of writing as series of books. We sigh in resignation, acceptance even. You know, if we were writing them today, World War 1990: Castro's Folly, and World War 1990: Operation Eastern Storm would be split. We can say January has been an extremely strong and good month for sales of The Aftermath of 1976 and all other books.
Okay...so in World War 1990: The Final Storm, the Japanese PM calls the speaker of the Diet into his office and tells him, in broad strokes, what's about to happen. From there we jump to USS Long Beach, the Aussies, for briefings and set up. This should work, right? Right. Let's get one thing straight, no Japanese character in a World War 1990 novel will be shouting, 'Bonzai!'
We still got no What If? ideas for 19Fortyfive. WTF? WTF indeed. We are going to set aside an hour today and think about nothing else. This is the wrong approached, actually. But we've not had that flash of inspiration.
Here is something that might work what if the French had won in Mexico and Emperor Maximilian had kept his thrown would Mexico be more stable and more of a economic powerhouse than it is today
