Will Watches Retro Will

Good back-to-back days at the gym. We changed the order and mix of machines we use. We needed the shakeup.

Mrs. Stroock made a Korean BBQ red meat last night. We'll be on the lookout for gout.

Hmmm... blogger tells us a post was flagged for sensitive content but doesn't tell us which post. I blame the Feds. Also, the Jews. I blame them too. You know what the Imams say.  Okay, here's the post, WTF? And who's flagging content? And why? Someone is going over this blog. We have enemies. Reminder, we have a Substack and numerous social media accounts. Be prepared, reader(s).

Welcome Malayan readers. Why not say hello?

Prime Minister Netanyahu's judicial reform bill passed the first reading last night. With every day the opposition's dread consequences become more dread and consequential. We've seen this playbook before. US government shutdowns, Brexit...pass the bill, nothing will happen. President Isaac Herzog is wisely calling for compromise.

We grew up in the Hudson River Valley where the mighty river was more than two miles wide. The original Dutch settlers called the river there an inland sea. The main bridge across was the Tappan Zee, built in the 1950s. A replacement bridge was built by Governor Andrew Cuomo, the state's greatest mass killer since Osama bin Laden. Andrew promptly named the bridge after his father, the late Governor Mario M. Cuomo. We always resented the renaming, as did a lot of people.

Well, the New York Post reports: 'A Hudson Valley Democrat wants to push the late former Gov. Mario M. Cuomo off his bridge — or at least the Cuomo name. “Everyone in the Hudson Valley still calls the bridge the Tappan Zee for a reason,” state Sen. James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) told The Post of the span completed in 2018. “It’s the rightful name.”' Indeed it is. Tappan was a local Native American tribe, and Zee is a term invoking the region's Dutch heritage. This is a good first step toward scrubbing the state of Andrew Cuomo's disastrous and toxic rein. Of course, nothing will bring back the thousands Cuomo killed.

What Will's Watching: Little Children. A 2006 movie about people in their early 30's with toddlers, a recently released pedo, and a bitter ex cop. This is a film about suburban life, parenthood, and marriage. We watched Little Children several times in 2007 when we were in our early 30s and had a toddler. We also read the book. This is the first time we've watched the movie since. Let's just say we related, especially to Patrick Wilson's portrayal of a stay-at-home dad, not that we had an affair with a character like Kate Winslet's bored and unfulfilled stay-at-home-mom. Winslet had top billing in Little Children, justifiably so. We'll write more about Little Children this week. Anyway, 4/4
