Welcome to the Stroock's Books Valentine's Day Spectacular. Let's start off with Monday (not) Metal on Tuesday:
Honestly, if we wanted to, we could convert this blog to an Israeli news roundup and have plenty to write about. There's plenty of fodder. Mass protests in the streets. Threats of foreign divestment (which this blog seriously doubts), talk of civil war, the West Bank People's constant knife and car ramming attacks on Israelis. The Third Intifada has already begun. There's also talk of compromise on Netanyahu's judicial reform bill; first reading on Monday.
Richard Fernandez has an interesting article on a Chinese invasion of Taiwan; focusing on invasion beaches. Mark Steyn recently said there will be no war because you can't go to war with a nation that makes all your stuff. Steyn is a pessimist, with good reason. There are people trying to kill him. Glenn Reynolds has always said 'subterfuge' is more likely. Stroock's Books does not think the United States would win such a war.
Like Steyn, we're pessimistic too.
In Ukraine, fighting continues in Donetsk. This blog urges reader(s) to follow very closely what is said by Generals Who Appear on TV. They're regime mouthpieces, but also very seldomly correct. We still believe 2023's 'big show' has yet to begin. Also, people with Ukraine flags in their bio will be sorely disappointed at the end of, you know, the thing. But we're well paid by Moscow to say things like that.
Segue*...Howie Carr talks about the Boston FBI office's refusal to investigate 140 Americans who were only under suspicion because they took a bus to Washington DC on January 6th 2021. Carr comments, 'When the feds identify a real Public Enemy — say, a Steve Bannon or Peter Navarro — they deploy search warrants, Title III wiretap authorizations, PEN registers on phones, pole cameras, etc.' Given our own collusion with the Soviets, sorry Russians, we've wondered. Stroock's Books is not afraid. Paranoid, yes. But not afraid.
We're on the verge of letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. But we're almost done with The New American Order. Almost. We keep thinking, 'Yeah, but what about the thing with the guy in the place?' Norway....slowly. We are in consultations.
*Still can't believe that's not spelled 'segway'.
